The Pljevlja Coal Mine (RUP) provided a valuable donation to the Protection and Rescue Service of the Municipality of Pljevlja, as well as monetary awards for firefighters who participated in extinguishing fires in the territory of Podgorica.
The company's CEO, Nemanja Laković, officially presented the donation, which includes equipment and financial support in the total amount of 5.000 euros, or 500 euros for each firefighter-rescuer engaged during the action in Podgorica.
"In recognition of the courage, professionalism and solidarity shown, a donation in the total amount of 5.000 euros was approved for members of the Protection and Rescue Service of the Municipality of Pljevlja, or 500 euros for each firefighter-rescuer who participated in the fire extinguishing operation in the territory of the Capital City of Podgorica. The Pljevlja firefighters-rescuers have once again demonstrated a high level of readiness, expertise and dedication, providing selfless assistance outside the territory of their municipality," Laković pointed out.
In addition to the cash prize, RUP also donated 25 modern backpacks for outdoor firefighting, which further improves the technical equipment of the Service, especially in the summer period when the risk of fire is increased. The company said that this donation once again confirmed the good cooperation with the local Protection and Rescue Service.
The Commander of the Protection and Rescue Service of the Municipality of Pljevlja, Bogdan Bojović, thanked for the support, emphasizing the importance of continuous investment in people and equipment.
"The configuration of the terrain in Pljevlja is such that there is a lot of inaccessible terrain and that the donation of 25 backpacks during the summer and open fires is our basic tool. We are grateful to the Pljevlja Coal Mine for respecting us and donating the best that is currently on the market," said Bojović, adding that this is a continuation of successful cooperation.
RUP says that investing in security and strengthening the capacities of local services is one of the company's priorities, and that it will continue to support activities that contribute to the preservation of life, property, and natural resources, in accordance with its capabilities.
