President of the Municipal Assembly (MA) of Tivat Miljan Marković He violated the Law on the Prevention of Corruption because he failed to report the increase in assets and failed to submit accurate data on assets, according to the decision of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (ASK), published on their website.
The agency determined that Marković did not report that he had become the owner of real estate in the Tivat settlement of Mrčevac, which was registered in his name in 2023, but also that he did not submit a special report on the increase in property exceeding 10.000 euros within 30 days.
"It is determined that public official Miljan Marković violated Article 25, paragraph 2 and Article 25, paragraph 3, indent 2 of the Law on the Prevention of Corruption, because he did not submit to the Agency accurate and complete data in the Report on Income and Assets for 2023, as well as a special Report in the event of changes related to an increase in assets exceeding 10.000 euros, within 30 days from the date of the change, i.e. he did not report the acquisition of ownership rights pursuant to the decision of the Real Estate Administration of 26 May 2023 over immovable property," the decision states.
In addition to the real estate, the decision also states that the number of shares he owns in the closed-end investment fund “Atlas-Mont” was also disputed. The agency determined that he stated in his report that he had five, although the records state that it was 5.000 shares.
During the proceedings, Marković stated that there was a technical error when reporting the shares and that he had no intention of concealing the real situation. Regarding the immovable property, he pointed out that it was the family home in which he had lived since childhood, that is, the part of the building in which he moved with his wife in 2013, and that his parents registered the apartment in his name after the building was legalized.
The Agency considered these allegations, but concluded that they did not influence a different decision, because the decision on registration of ownership had been made and duly submitted, and the official was obliged to report the change.
