Congratulations on the occasion of Ramadan

The Islamic holy month of Ramadan has begun, and believers will spend it in fasting, prayer, and forgiveness.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Muslim calendar, and its beginning is marked by the appearance of the crescent moon.

It is the month in which it is believed that the revelation of the Koran began.

Believers, during the month of Ramadan, are on a strict fast and refrain from food and water, and smoking and any behavior that is not in accordance with religious regulations are prohibited.

Ramadan fasting begins at dawn and lasts all day until sunset, when the iftar is prepared, after which eating and drinking are allowed throughout the night.

During Ramadan, believers should visit relatives, neighbors, brothers in faith, as well as visit the sick and help the poor and infirm.

After the Ramadan fast, on March 20th, Eid al-Fitr begins.

Minister of Tourism, Simonida Kordić, sent a congratulatory message on the beginning of the month of Ramadan.

"On the occasion of the beginning of the month of Ramadan, I extend my warmest congratulations to all believers of the Islamic faith," Kordić said in her congratulatory message.

She added that Ramadan is a month of spiritual renewal, solidarity and mutual understanding, which reminds us of the universal values ​​of peace, tolerance and respect.

Knežević points out that the month of Ramadan fasting indicates the trials of the spirit, affirming the universal human values ​​of the Islamic religion, as well as multiethnic and multiconfessional harmony, for which Montenegro is recognized in the modern world, affirming the feeling of all-forgiveness and tolerance in our region.
