Vice President of the Socialist People's Party (SNP) and MP in the Parliament of Montenegro, Slađana Kaluđerović, announced that she strongly condemns the shameful attacks and campaign of insults directed against Democratic MP Anđela Vojinović.
According to her, we are witnessing yet another attempt to discredit a woman who does her job responsibly and with dignity through digital violence, misogyny, and primitivism.
"Attacks on MP Vojinović for her political activities are not only personal insults, but also a direct attack on freedom of speech and parliamentary integrity. Social networks must not be a training ground for lynching and spreading hatred, especially towards women who dare to have a position and publicly advocate it. If as a society we remain silent about brutal insults against colleague Vojinović, we give the green light for any future attack on any woman in public space," Kaluđerović stressed in a statement.
She added that political differences are natural and desirable, but insults to someone's dignity and integrity are unacceptable.
"I call on the competent authorities to urgently respond to these cowardly attacks and prosecute any spread of hatred on social networks, especially since the target of the attacks is women. Condemnation of attacks on female politicians must be stronger and louder than any primitivism, because only in this way can we become part of the modern European and democratic society to which we aspire," concluded Kaluđerović.
The Civic Alliance (GA) announced that it strongly condemns the apparently organized bot attacks on the Democratic Party MP in the Parliament of Montenegro, Anđela Vojinović, which attempt to discredit and humiliate a woman for her publicly expressed political stance.
The CA states that the best indicator of the society we live in is that in a heated political environment, women are always the ones who suffer in public spaces.
