Leković: Repair the Bar - Virpazar road via Sutorman as soon as possible, the danger of it being closed is becoming increasingly real

As a councilor in the local parliament, I feel a duty and obligation to appeal due to the current situation on the regional road R-28 Bar–Virpazar via Sutorman. Large landslides and rockfalls that have occurred on several sections of this road represent a direct threat to the safety of road users, but also to the normal functioning of the citizens of this region. With each new rainy day, the risk becomes greater, and the danger of the road being completely closed is increasingly real.

This was announced by the Democratic Party MP and councilor in the Bar Municipal Assembly, Momčilo Leković.

"This road is also a connection between people, families, workers, farmers and tourists who will soon come to our city. Its possible closure would mean the isolation of certain areas and an additional burden for the citizens of Bar, who have been suffering the consequences of poor infrastructure for over 30 years. Therefore, on behalf of a large number of citizens, I publicly call on all competent authorities, if they have not already done so, to go out into the field, assess the situation, start repairing the landslides and securing critical points, or ultimately sanction all those who are possibly to blame for the landslides and who have not started the repairs within the deadline," Leković said in a press release.

He emphasized that temporary protection measures are needed, but also a permanent solution in the form of the announced reconstruction, which will guarantee the safety and stability of this road.

"Without safe roads, there is no security, no development, no normal life. That is why I expect a quick and concrete reaction from the authorities, and I will continue to inform the public about further steps," Leković concluded.
