Although 80.000 euros were allocated from the municipal budget for the work of the Kolašin Tourist Organization last year, which is twice as much as the previous year, in the Information on the work of that organization, signed by the director Zorica Milašinović, it says that this support should be more significant.
Total revenues of the Kolašin Tourist Board, consisting of tourist tax, membership fees, funds from the municipal budget and incentive measures for tourism development, were only 224.207 euros last year. The year before, the Tourist Board had less than 173.000 euros available for all activities and employee salaries.
The document, which will be presented to councilors at the next session of the Municipal Assembly (MA), also states that, in addition, more money is needed to improve the tourist offer, and that "it is necessary to consider hiring a larger number of tourist inspectors during the summer and winter tourist seasons."
Milašinović explains that there are a large number of registered private accommodation providers, and that many are far from the city center, which results in significant losses of funds from the collection of the residence tax. There is also a lack of an official vehicle.
The TO director also says that last year the entire membership fee was not collected.
"It is necessary to collect the membership contribution in accordance with the issued decisions on the payment of the membership contribution. According to the records of issued decisions and payments made for 2025, 20.585 euros have not been collected," she wrote in the information.
As stated in the document, the largest number of criticisms from tourists during the summer tourist season relates to the untidy bus station, lack of information regarding rail transport, confusing traffic signals on the Kolašin-Berane road, a large number of stray dogs, and the lack of public toilets.
According to MONSTAT data, cited in the Information, 140.436 overnight stays were recorded in Kolašin in 2024, and 172.680 last year. The number of registered tourists last year was 69.791, and the year before that it was 51.753. The document also states that significant progress was made in the number of registered private accommodation providers in 2025, so there are now 477 of them, with approximately 3.300 beds.
However, according to the information, despite the scarce money at their disposal, TO organized several manifestations and various events over the course of two years, the aim of which was to enrich the city's non-boarding offer.
