The director of the German company "Gopa" Mathias Lueg and the representative of Tivat's "Vodacom" Dragan Roganović, in the presence of the President of the Municipality of Ulcinj Gencij Nimanbegu, today ceremoniously signed a contract for consulting services for the construction of a wastewater treatment plant and supporting infrastructure in the southernmost city.

The contract was signed in Nimanbegu's office in the Municipality of Ulcinj.

Nimanbegu said that the Municipality will provide all necessary logistics and support so that the project, which will be carried out by "Gopa", is completed within the agreed period of 12 months.

"This is a significant step in solving the environmental and other problems we have as a community. I would like to remind you that last fall we received a grant from the German bank KfW in the amount of more than 30 million euros, which will be used for the construction of the facility," Nimanbegu told reporters after signing the contract.

He emphasized that "Vodacom" is a signatory to the contract on behalf of the Municipality of Ulcinj and that it is a joint project.

"The project is not at all simple, considering that Ulcinj has tens or even hundreds of thousands more people in the summer than in the winter. I am sure that "Gopa" has experience in implementing such and similar projects for tourist destinations and that we will solve 80 percent of these problems with the implementation. Although we are not officially a partner in signing the contract, I believe that the responsibility is ours and that we are capable of carrying it out to the end," said Nimanbegu.
