The NGO "Euromost" filed a complaint today with the Environmental Protection Agency, the Food Safety and Veterinary Administration, the Ecological Inspection, and the Occupational Safety and Health Inspection, against the utility company "Lim" from Bijelo Polje, which illegally and improperly buried 18000 dead poultry infected with bird flu at the illegal temporary Bijelo Polje landfill in Dobrakovo, without the approval of the competent institutions, thereby endangering the health of people, animals, and the environment.
They, as stated in the statement, have provided evidence of the current situation at this landfill, where infected poultry is buried.
"The place is untidy, unfenced, and there are a large number of stray dogs and birds. Employees from this company are also present. We are asking for a solution to be reached and all poultry from this location to be removed and buried in a place that should be provided in accordance with the Veterinary Law and the Law on the Treatment of Animal By-Products," Euromost said.
As they point out, they have also filed a report with the Occupational Health and Safety Inspectorate because the health and lives of employees at the Lim Utility Company, who service this temporary illegal landfill, are at risk.
"If the competent services do not react, they will be responsible for all possible consequences, because everyone is silent and does not enforce the laws, to the detriment of citizens and the environment," the NGO said at the end of the statement.
