The University of Montenegro has launched a project to completely renovate the interior of the first floor of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, worth 900.000 euros. On this occasion, the beginning of the works was officially marked at the Faculty today.
The goal of the project is to improve the working conditions of employees and students through the modernization of space and the introduction of modern interior solutions, writes Media Biro.
"In the past few years, we have been investing intensively in infrastructure, aware that the quality of education begins precisely with the space in which it is created. At the Faculty of Civil Engineering, we learn how to build, and projects that become part of the real world are born here. That is why it is important that this space is functional, modern and stimulating. But this investment is not only an investment in infrastructure, but also in the quality of education and the everyday experience of future generations, as well as in the knowledge that remains," said the Rector of the University of Montenegro, Vladimir Božović, according to Media Biro.
President of the Board of Directors of the University of Montenegro Milivoje Radović pointed out that through investments like this, we show that our university not only follows modern standards of higher education, but also sets them.
"We are creating a functional, inspiring and stimulating environment for learning, science and creativity. I am convinced that this new space at the Faculty of Civil Engineering will contribute to a better quality of everyday life for students and teaching staff and further strengthen the academic and professional community that we are building together," said Radović.
"For us at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, this is not just an adaptation of space - this is an investment in the future of our students and teachers. Each new classroom, laboratory and amphitheater will create an environment in which learning, research and creation take place at the highest level. I am pleased that our students and employees will have a space that motivates, inspires and reflects the quality of education we strive for," said the Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Prof. Dr. Milivoje Rogač.
"The Faculty of Civil Engineering has always been a symbol of quality, but in order to follow European standards and technological progress, it is necessary that the learning environment is also modern. This adaptation creates a space in which future engineers will have the best conditions for work, research and innovation, and that every amphitheater, laboratory and cabinet will be places that motivate and encourage the achievement of excellent results in this field," emphasized the Minister of Education, Science and Innovation, Prof. Dr. Anđela Jakšić-Stojanović.
According to the Media Bureau, the project includes the replacement of worn-out floor, wall and ceiling surfaces, reconstruction of electrical installations, installation of modern and functional office furniture and equipment, demolition of partition walls between offices and hallways, replacement of old doors and cabinets, installation of oak parquet in offices, classrooms and halls, renovation of floors in hallways, decorative wall coverings, modern entrance portals, LED screens and a lobby area for gathering of teaching staff.
This investment represents a continuation of the University of Montenegro's investment in improving the quality of teaching and working environment and another step towards creating a modern and functional space in accordance with the needs of students and employees. The deadline for completion of the works is six months.
We would like to remind you that the construction of the large amphitheater 213 was previously completed at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, as well as the adaptation of amphitheaters 017 and 055. The facade and facade hardware of the Faculty building were replaced, and the project of installing solar panels on flat roofs was also completed, which further improved the energy efficiency and sustainability of the building.
