The Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation has adopted a new Regulation on detailed criteria, amounts and conditions for awarding scholarships to talented primary and secondary school students.

An analysis of previous practice, as announced, has determined the need for additional clarification of certain provisions, with the aim of improving the transparency and fairness of the scholarship awarding process.

They said that the new Rulebook more precisely defines the criteria and method of ranking candidates, which further encourages the development and support of talented students, as well as improving the quality of education.

The special Regulation on the criteria, conditions and amount of compensation for exercising the right to participation in transportation for pupils and students, adopted by the Ministry, achieves, as they said, a clearer and more precise standardization of the right to participation in transportation, simplifies the administrative procedure for users and competent authorities, and opens the possibility of faster amendments and supplements.

With the entry into force of the new Law on Higher Education, they remind you, there were changes in the structure and organization of study programs, which required the harmonization of the provisions of the Rulebook on the criteria, manner, conditions and amount of compensation for exercising the right to accommodation and meals in the dormitory, which relate to the conditions and criteria for exercising the right to accommodation and meals for students.

The amendments also envisage the introduction of the right to free accommodation and food for former residents of the Children's Home "Mladost" Bijela, with the aim of improving social inclusion and providing additional support to this category of beneficiaries, according to the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports.

"We would like to remind you that students with special educational needs, students from the RE population, students with disabilities and students from the RE population have the right to free accommodation and meals in dormitories. Within the accommodation capacities, the dormitory specifically allocates up to 5 percent of its capacity for the accommodation of students with special educational needs, students from the RE population, students without one or both parents and students who are beneficiaries of material security in accordance with the law governing social and child protection. Also, the dormitory specifically allocates up to 7 percent of its capacity for the accommodation of students with disabilities, students from the RE population, students without one or both parents and students who are beneficiaries of material security in accordance with the law governing social and child protection," the statement reads.

The regulations are available on the website of the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation.
