Reconstructed kitchen of the General Hospital in Nikšić opened

The Mayor of the Municipality of Nikšić, Marko Kovačević, together with the Minister of Health of Montenegro, Vojislav Šimun, State Secretary of the Ministry of Public Works, Marko Jokić, President of the Nikšić Municipal Assembly, Milica Lalatović Žižić, Director of the Nikšić General Hospital, Zoran Mrkić, and Director of the Nikšić Public Health Center, Radovan Vušović, visited the completed works on the reconstructed and adapted kitchen, whose value is over 700 thousand euros, the Municipality announced.

Kovačević emphasized that he is very pleased that another important project has been completed.

"The Municipality of Nikšić will always support such projects, for the benefit of all our citizens. During the reconstruction of the kitchen, the Municipality of Nikšić ceded the premises of the Sports Center to prepare meals for fellow citizens who are users of the Hospital's services, which is an exceptional example of mutual cooperation and support of institutions in achieving such significant results. I would also say that investments in healthcare in Montenegro, and especially in Nikšić, have been significantly higher in the last three years than before. As a local government, we join the efforts to make this cooperation even better in the coming period. Once again, I congratulate you on the implementation of this project — it is of great importance for our city and all our fellow citizens, and we should continue on this path," he said.

Šimun said that the Ministry will continue to invest in healthcare institutions in Montenegro.

"I would especially like to highlight the excellent cooperation with the Municipality of Nikšić, with which we have implemented numerous projects and with which we are planning more new activities, so that the citizens of Nikšić have the best healthcare. Improving conditions in health institutions will be our priority in the coming period," said the minister.

The Director of the Nikšić General Hospital, Zoran Mrkić, thanked Kovačević for the assistance he provided during the reconstruction of the kitchen and for his cooperation so far.

"For a year, the duration of the kitchen reconstruction, thanks to the exceptionally good cooperation between the Municipality of Nikšić and the Sports Center, we managed to ensure a continuous supply of meals to our patients that were prepared in that center," said Mrkić.

Jokić, Vušurović and Lalatović Žižić also expressed satisfaction that such a project, which, as stated, was done according to the most modern standards, was completed in order to improve the conditions in the hospital.
