The Investment Directorate of the Municipality of Tivat submitted a request to the Environmental Protection Agency of Montenegro to decide on the need to prepare an environmental impact assessment study for the construction of a pontoon mooring on the Bazdanj pier, on the southeastern coast of the Tivat Bay, at the location marked number 10.17 in the Amendments and Supplements to the Program of Temporary Facilities in the Marine Zone for the Municipality of Tivat for the period 2024-2028, within the scope of cadastral plot no. 1605/1, KO Đuraševići, and anchorage no. 2, in the Tivat Bay on the northern side of the island of Sveti Marko, at the location marked number 7.18 in the Amendments and Supplements to the Program of Temporary Facilities in the Marine Zone for the Municipality of Tivat for the period 2024-2028, in the municipality of Tivat.
The Municipality of Tivat has been preparing for years to take over the management of several locations on the coast of the Tivat Bay, which are in the program of temporary facilities in the coastal zone intended for moorings, and which would provide communal berths for small boats and other vessels for sports and recreation of the local population.
The municipality also intends to take over the management of parts of the Tivat Bay waters designated as anchorages and thus begin to bring order to the completely unregulated and massive phenomenon of yacht anchoring in all conceivable positions in that part of Boka Bay - often to the detriment of environmental protection and the safety of maritime traffic.
The deadline for public inspection and submission of written comments and opinions to the Environmental Protection Agency on the documentation submitted by the Investment Directorate of the Municipality of Tivat is April 8th.
