Student activism is an important segment of every democratic society, because young people, through their actions, point to challenges and contribute to overcoming them, said the Mayor of Cetinje, Nikola Đurašković.

On the occasion of marking April 4th - Students' Day, Đurašković, President of the Assembly of the Royal Capital Milena Vujović, and President of UBNOR and Anti-Fascists Cetinje Borislav Pravilović laid a wreath at the grave of Žarko Marinović, at the local cemetery in Očinići.

"This is a tribute to law student and member of the Communist Party of Yugoslavia Žarko Marinović, who lost his life on April 4, 1936, during student demonstrations at Belgrade University. The protest occurred due to attempts by the then authorities to introduce a university police force, which provoked strong student resistance. In memory of his sacrifice, April 4 is marked as Students' Day, as a reminder of the fight for student rights and the dignity of students," the Royal Capital reminds in a statement.

Congratulating Students' Day, Đurašković emphasized that this date reminds us of the courage and determination of young people who have initiated change and fought for a more just society throughout history.
