Easter Bazaar opens in Nikšić: A celebration of tradition, togetherness and creativity

The Easter Bazaar was officially opened today at the Freedom Square in Nikšić, an event that, as the President of the Municipality of Nikšić Marko Kovačević emphasized, is becoming a serious tradition in the city. On that occasion, Kovačević, as stated in a statement from the Municipality, congratulated all members of the Roman Catholic faith on Easter, with the wish that the holiday brings joy and peace to all homes.

"We try to often give our exhibitors the opportunity to present themselves for free. We concluded that there is no more beautiful and better opportunity than right before the biggest Christian holiday, which most of our fellow citizens celebrate. This opening should have been a little earlier, but it still turned out well. On the great holiday of Flowers, we are opening the Bazaar, in anticipation of Easter, waiting for Nikšić to blossom and resurrect in the future," said Kovačević.

Director of the Nikšić Tourist Organization, Mitar Barać, said that Easter brings messages of unity and hope, which are reflected in the spirit of this bazaar.

"It is my pleasure to greet you on behalf of TO Nikšić. Easter is a holiday of togetherness and hope, and I think that these are the symbols of this bazaar, as well as the previous ones. Today we celebrate not only tradition but also the creativity of the people who exhibited their products, which makes this bazaar special. I invite all our fellow citizens, especially the youngest, to visit the event in the next fifteen days, because a rich and diverse program has been provided," said Barać.

Archpriest-stavrophor Boban Jokić blessed the Bazaar, emphasizing the importance of unity, freedom, and faith.

"I would like to thank the Municipality of Nikšić for enabling our fellow citizens to come together again in the last few years, to feel freedom, just as this square bears the name of that freedom. Because Easter is precisely freedom from sin, from death, freedom in life, which Christ gives us with his resurrection and victory over the greatest enemy - death. When we overcome death, then we will overcome our divisions, our selfishness, everything that is bad about us, living in a community of love and harmony," said Jokić.

The cultural and entertainment program was attended by the choir of the Serbian Singing Society "Svetosavnik", harpist Mihaela Đurović, ballerinas of the Dance Club "Rojal" and the band "Sancho Pansa".

The bazaar under the symbolic name "The Joy of Easter in the Heart of Nikšić", organized by the Municipality of Nikšić, the Church Municipality of Nikšić and the Tourist Organization of Nikšić, will last until April 20th.
