An auxiliary building in the village of Gornja Lastva near Tivat was completely destroyed in a fire that broke out this morning just before eight o'clock.
Despite the quick intervention of members of the Protection and Rescue Service of the Municipality of Tivat, the fire completely destroyed that auxiliary building - once an old traditional stone house from Gornja Lastovo.
Firefighters, who were notified of the fire at 8:10 a.m., still managed to prevent it from spreading to surrounding buildings and vegetation, which is of exceptional importance because the old Boka Kotorska village of Gornja Lastva is a protected environmental entity due to its landscape and cultural values.
The intervention was of increased risk, because there was a lot of flammable material in the burning building, as well as several gas cylinders.
The firefighting took about half an hour, and according to the commander of the Tivat Fire Department, Milorad Giljača, eight members of that service and three fire trucks participated in the intervention.
According to preliminary unofficial information, the fire was allegedly set ablaze, and the investigation is ongoing.
