They donate to the open-air stage project: "Lovćen film" has created a conceptual design for a semi-open stage on the roof of TQ Plaza in Budva

After the contract with the Municipality of Budva expired and the local government decided to take over the management of the cinema, the company "Lovćen film" created a conceptual design for a futuristic semi-open stage on the roof of TQ Plaza.

This is one of the most attractive concepts of urban cultural infrastructure proposed so far for the center of Budva. The project envisages a modern, semi-open multifunctional stage with almost 350 seats, intended for holding theater performances, film screenings and concerts. The space is designed to be perfectly integrated into the existing ambiance of the city center, while offering a modern and technically equipped open-air stage.

The conceptual design was developed by the architectural bureau "Beton i Cvet", which, in addition to the Budva cinema, also designed dozens of cinemas and multifunctional halls throughout the former Yugoslavia.

For decades, Budva has lacked a true semi-open multifunctional stage that could meet the needs of the city during the tourist season, but also outside of it.

"We believed that the gift of such a project and the idea for building a semi-open multifunctional stage on the roof of TQ Plaza was a beautiful and appropriate act for the end of a ten-year cooperation," the company said.

“Lovćen film” opened the most modern cinema in Budva, “Cadmus Cineplex”, in 2015, with multiple screens and state-of-the-art cinema technology. Over the past decade, the cinema has been visited by more than 400.000 viewers, making it one of the most important cultural venues in the city.

Now, as "Lovćen Film" points out, it is up to the Municipality of Budva to consider the proposed concept and, if it decides to implement it, to enable the construction of a new open stage in a relatively short period of time, so that the city can get a modern cultural space as early as next summer.

The Municipality of Budva has offered "Lovćen Film" to conclude a settlement in which the local government will pay the company 1,7 million euros, thereby taking over the cinema, and the two parties will waive all mutual legal proceedings.
