Preparations for the celebration of 20 years since the restoration of Montenegro's independence are nearing completion in Kolašin. The municipal commission for the celebration was formed about ten days ago, but the program for the multi-day celebration of the anniversary is already known in almost every detail.
As he told "Vijesti" Matija Bulatović, a member of that commission, the official program of the ceremony will be announced next week.
"It will consist of a series of cultural, entertainment and social events where citizens and tourists will have the opportunity to celebrate the anniversary of independence together. Through this celebration, we will actively promote Kolašin as a tourist center through the entertainment part of the program. The Commission is working intensively on the preparation of cultural and artistic events that will celebrate the anniversary of Montenegrin independence. Together with the Commission, the Kolašin UBNOR and anti-fascists are also actively participating in the preparation of the organization. The members of the Commission, who work without financial compensation, have met several times so far," said Bulatović.
According to unofficial information from "Vijesti", the celebration in Kolašin will, among other things, include two concerts by regional and domestic stars, performances by supporting bands, as well as a ceremonial academy.
At the Municipal Assembly session in early March, the DPS-SD-Citizens' Club of Councilors submitted a proposal to the president of the local parliament. Vasilije Bulatović a proposal to expand the agenda of the 26th session, proposing the establishment of a special commission to prepare the celebration of the great state jubilee - 20 years since the restoration of Montenegro's independence. This proposal was accepted, and the ceremony will be financed from the municipal budget.
As they stated in the initiative at the time, Kolašin, as one of the recognizable centers of statehood and culture in the country, should mark this anniversary in a dignified manner.
