Orthodox believers celebrate Easter today, the most important holiday in Christian teachings, which signifies that life has triumphed over death.
The Resurrection of Christ, the "holiday of holidays," as it is called, is celebrated with liturgies and numerous customs.
On the holiday, believers greet each other with "Christ is risen" - truly risen.
It is customary to paint eggs red, the first one is left until the next Easter and is called the housekeeper. Believers knock on doors with painted eggs on the holiday.
