Representatives of the Budva Catering Association held a meeting with the management of the Public Company for the Management of the Coastal Zone of Montenegro, at which issues of importance for the operations of catering facilities in the coastal zone were discussed.

"As one of the key topics, we highlighted the issue of leases, with special emphasis on the obligation to pay rent during the winter period. We pointed out that the aforementioned obligation represents a significant financial burden for caterers who want to operate throughout the year, retain their workforce and improve Budva's offer outside the tourist season. In this regard, we have requested that the possibility of not charging rents for the winter period or reducing it to a minimum be considered, in order to enable smooth and continuous business," the Association said in a statement submitted to "Vijesti".

Also, regarding this issue, as we have emphasized in cooperation with representatives of the other six coastal municipalities, we will take a unified position and send an official letter to the competent company.

"At the meeting, we also raised the issue of beach nourishment and development, with an appeal for citizens and tourists to become familiar with the importance of these activities. We emphasized that the presence of machinery on the beaches during this period is part of the preparations for the upcoming tourist season and beach development, and that it cannot always be considered a devastation of space. We additionally pointed out the need for a long-term and planned approach in regulating the allocation of locations, with the initiative that after 2028, tender procedures be announced for a period of 10 years, with clearly defined guidelines regarding the appearance and quality of catering facilities in the coastal zone. We express our satisfaction with the meeting and our readiness for further cooperation and launching initiatives of mutual interest," the statement concludes.
