Public Health Institute: Montenegrin citizen on MV Hondius cruise ship is not sick, is in good health

On the passenger cruise ship MV Hondius, on which a passenger was registered to have fallen ill, there is one Montenegrin citizen who is not ill and is in good health, the Institute of Public Health (IJZ) announced.

The health institution said that they continue to monitor the situation and act in accordance with international health procedures and recommendations from relevant institutions.

Three passengers on the cruise ship have died, and the cause of the deaths is suspected to be hantavirus infection, which is most often transmitted through contact with the secretions of infected rodents, or by inhaling particles contaminated with the urine, feces, or saliva of rodents.
