The Municipality of Bar, headed by Dušan Raičević, has chosen a special visual identity to mark 20 years since the restoration of independence, and the logo that they will use as the official one was provided to them free of charge by a journalist Dusko Mihailović.
The Organizing Committee of that local government for the celebration of May 21st - 20 years since the restoration of Montenegro's independence, at its meeting, analyzed the available visual solutions that various individuals offered to the public in anticipation of the celebration of this anniversary in order to further strengthen the visual identity of the program.
This is nothing new, the Bar administration told "Vijesti", nor is it unusual, although the Municipality of Bar has a visual identity for every event it organizes, which promotes those events, and this is also the case when it comes to a series of events in anticipation of Independence Day.
They reminded that they are not organizing an official central state celebration, as this is within the jurisdiction of the central authorities and the Government, but rather a series of events as a contribution to this anniversary.
"When it comes to the decision made by the Government, in the identical procedure as the municipal decision, the local administration will use it as prescribed by the Government, on official documents and in official correspondence throughout the year, as was the case on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the restoration of independence," the Municipality said.
When asked why this visual identity "represents the spirit of this jubilee", as Raičević's administration previously stated, they replied that the organizing committee assessed the visual as an attractive solution that can further enhance the visual identity of the program that will be implemented in anticipation of May 21st, which has already been shown as such on social networks.
The logo contains elements of the state symbol - the golden eagle, the shape of the map of Montenegro, the clearly highlighted number 20 and the year of the restoration of independence, and the slogan "Forever ours".
"It was also made in the red and gold colors of the Montenegrin flag. The thousand-year-old Montenegrin state-building tradition has its foundations precisely in Bar, where the first Montenegrin state of Duklja was established with the Battle of Tuđemili," the Municipality said.
Throughout history, Bar has been the backbone of Montenegro's development, they added, its gateway to the world, the oldest center of all religious communities, dynasties and traditions, but also the engine of modernization and European development of the country, which is why they feel an additional obligation to contribute to the celebration of this anniversary, which they will do through a rich program.
Overall, the municipality of Bar concludes, the logo is visually attractive and can contribute to the visibility of their programs. Additionally, the logo was provided without any financial compensation, which led to its immediate acceptance and thus saved citizens' money.
Raičević's office said that "the Municipality of Bar has never claimed that the Government's solution does not meet the standards nor has it had the ambition to compete with it."
They are talking, as they stated, about two completely different "tracks" and processes - the official logo of the Government and the visual for a cultural and entertainment event.
"The Municipality of Bar did not deny the Government's logo, nor did it impose other official versions, nor does it befit a responsible administration like the one in Bar, but rather chose the visual for the events it organizes itself to mark Independence Day," the Municipality said.
They also told "Vijesti" that the Organizing Committee, or rather certain members, during analysis and research, expressed interest in this visual through communication with Mihailović, after which he immediately offered to give this logo to the Municipality of Bar free of charge, or donate it without any compensation.
Taking into account such a fact, correct communication, previous analyses of the quality of the solution, but also taking into account economy and responsibility towards public finances, the Board decided on this solution, concluded Raičević's office. On the occasion of the celebration of Independence Day in Bar, a series of concerts will be organized - on May 21, regional stars "Dubioza Kolektiv" and the Montenegrin group "Who see" will perform, on May 22, a performance by Bar's "Akademija" and the group "Parni valjak" will be held, while on May 23, the program will be adapted for young citizens, as DJ Marko Milanović will perform, as well as European DJ stars from Germany and Turkey Tom Novi and Burak Jeter.
