The Ministry of Spatial Planning, Urbanism and State Property has begun increased inspection activities in the territory of the Tuzi municipality.
As announced by the ministry, the aim of the control is to combat illegal construction.
"During the field inspection, dozens of buildings were recorded, while on the first day, 16 people were prosecuted for carrying out work without a construction permit. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the aforementioned persons, and a ban on further construction has been imposed. The Ministry emphasizes that in the event of continued illegal construction, decisions will be made to demolish the buildings, modeled on the procedures implemented in the territory of the municipality of Žabljak at the end of 2025," it was announced.
The action of increased inspection supervision, it is added, is being carried out in coordination with officers of the Police Directorate - the Crime Prevention Sector, the Department for Suppression of Complex Forms of Economic Crime, Financial Investigations, the Fight against Corruption and Environmental Crime.
"Intensified controls will continue in the coming period, and construction inspectors will, in accordance with legal authorizations, without exception take administrative measures and actions against all persons who carry out work without the necessary documentation. Criminal charges will be filed against all persons who are found to be carrying out work without a construction permit, in cooperation with officers of the Police Directorate...", the statement states.
