Lekić filed a lawsuit against Ječmenica due to allegations made at the Pljevlja Municipal Assembly session

Commenting on the lawsuit, Ječmenica told "Vijesti" that he was "glad that the Lekićs entered the Montenegrin judicial system" and announced that, as he claims, he would prove the alleged multi-million-dollar damages.

Milan Lekić, president of the Municipal Board of New Serbian Democracy in Pljevlja and a member of the Parliament of Montenegro, has filed a lawsuit against independent councilor in the Pljevlja Municipal Assembly, Saša Ječmenica, for, as he claims, violation of honor, reputation and dignity. Lekić is seeking compensation for non-pecuniary damage in the amount of 2.000 euros from Ječmenica.

The lawsuit relates to statements that Ječmenica allegedly made during the 24th session of the Pljevlja Municipal Assembly, held on March 16 this year, and which were publicly broadcast in a controversy with Lekić's wife, the director of the municipal company Čistoća. Ječmenica was the head of this company before her.

Lekić claims that during the discussion, false claims were made regarding the alleged use of the official vehicle "Čistoća" from Pljevlja, a traffic accident near Kruševac, as well as the alleged transportation of medical supplies across the Jabuka border crossing.

"The defendant, a councilor in the Pljevlja Municipal Assembly, on March 16, 2026, at the 24th session of the Pljevlja Municipal Assembly, made untruths about the plaintiff with the intention of violating the plaintiff's right to honor, reputation and dignity by stating in a discussion-reply with the plaintiff's wife, who is the executive director of DOO Čistoća from Pljevlja, knowing that the session of the Municipal Assembly was being broadcast publicly, that the plaintiff was driving a passenger motor vehicle of DOO Čistoća, that he had an accident with it near Kruševac, which is why the car was left there for 5 days to buy spare parts and cover everything up, and that Milan Lekić, using the vehicle in question, is transporting medicines from Serbia and medical supplies through the Jabuka border crossing, and that this is a fraud worth millions," the lawsuit states.

The lawsuit alleges that the disputed statements were made during a public broadcast of the session, making them available to the general public, and that they caused non-material damage to his reputation.

"By making untruths about the plaintiff, the defendant caused non-pecuniary damage to the plaintiff due to the violation of the right to honor, reputation and dignity, given that the person in question is a member of the Parliament of Montenegro, making sweeping claims, and did not file a report with the police or the competent prosecutor in relation to the same, aware that the claims made were false," the lawsuit states.

As evidence, it is proposed to hear the parties and witnesses, as well as obtain transcripts from the session of the Pljevlja Municipal Assembly.

Commenting on the lawsuit, Ječmenica told "Vijesti" that he was "glad that the Lekićs have entered the Montenegrin judicial system" and announced that, as he claims, he would prove the alleged multi-million-dollar damages.

"I will do my best to prove that they caused multi-million-dollar damage, and Milan Lekić should be the least concerned about the accident near Kruševac," said Ječmenica.
