The Budva branch of Democratic Montenegro has called on the prosecutor's office to investigate who is responsible for adopting the illegal Temporary Locations Program, which is now causing citizens to suffer and jeopardizing the season.
"Following the decision of the Government of Montenegro to repeal the Plan for Temporary Locations in the Municipality of Budva, the current and outgoing authorities in Budva have once again proven that they are completely incapable of making and implementing any decisions they themselves have made. Despite all the warnings we gave them at the Municipal Assembly session when this plan was adopted, the decision was nevertheless adopted solely to satisfy the needs of the eligible sponsors of the "Budva Our City" group and the DPS," said Željko Franeta, a member of the Democrats in the Budva parliament.
As he pointed out, such "illegal and wrong decisions directly endanger the tourist season and the further operation of catering facilities in the territory of our municipality."
"After the blocking of accounts and bringing the city into the zone of illiquidity, preventing state-owned companies from renovating the walls of the Old Town and improving the Port of Budva, and the blocking of the Slovinić family's investment and the lawsuits that follow from these companies - Budva is threatened with an even greater blockade and complete collapse in the coming period," Franeta stressed.
He called on the prosecutor's office to urgently investigate the responsibility of those who brought this illegal plan to the detriment of the citizens and economy of Budva.
"It is fortunate that the citizens of Budva will send this government to the political past in the next local elections, from where it came, and enable a new, responsible and legal administration that will work in the interests of Budva, and not in the interests of party sponsors," said Franeta.
