The Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Pljevlja has determined that there are no grounds for initiating criminal proceedings against any person in connection with allegations that have appeared in public over the past two years about alleged malfeasance in the work of the management of the "Lipljen" Sports Fishing Club.
State prosecutor Sanja Golubovic informed the applicants that, after considering the letter submitted to the prosecutor's office on 5 March 2024, it was assessed that there were no elements of a criminal offence for which prosecution was being carried out ex officio. The letter also stated that, if someone believes that such elements do exist, they can file a criminal complaint against a specific person by submitting evidence.
The request was sent to the prosecutor's office by a group of members and employees of the SRK "Lipljen", including the founders, members of the Board of Directors and the club's fish keepers. Dragan Milic, Haris Klepo, Kerim Selmanovic, Vaso Knezevic, Kemal Rasinlic, Enver Kadic, Camil Rasinlic i Dejan MilanovicIn the letter, they stated that public accusations of alleged embezzlement of funds, millions in turnover and other irregularities, spread through the media, social networks, public appearances and informal stories, have damaged the reputation of the club, its management and employees.
In the request, they asked the prosecution to investigate these allegations by questioning several people as witnesses, including: Darko Deverdžić, Predrag Pupović, Milorad Mitrović, Velimir Vukićević, Danilo Vukojičić, Misko Grbović, Dragan Ćirović from the Fishing Club "Ipon", as well as the President of the Municipality Dario Vranes.
The applicants pointed out that it was the public appearances and statements made by the aforementioned individuals that contributed to spreading suspicions about the club's work, and they asked the competent authorities to determine whether this information was accurate, in order to, as they stated, "put things in their proper place."
One of the club's founders, Vaso Knežević, assessed that this decision by the prosecutor's office clarified the situation in the club and confirmed that there was no basis for the accusations that were made in public. He stated that he expects that in the coming period, the responsibility of those who, according to him, made false claims will be considered before the competent court.
The club reminds that the tax inspection also conducted an inspection in 2024 and determined that there were no irregularities in financial operations. They also point out that following the ruling of the Administrative Court and the actions of the Ministry of Sports and Youth of Montenegro, the long-standing situation in the club was resolved, and new management bodies were formed - the Assembly, the Board of Directors, the President and the Secretary.
The SRK "Lipljen" says that they are continuing regular activities aimed at preserving fish stocks and improving the situation on the rivers of Pljevlja, with the message that their goal is to make the waterways in that area "cleaner, clearer and richer in fish stocks."
