Delegation of the Municipality of Bijelo Polje visits the sister Municipality of Burhanija in Turkey

The delegation of the Municipality of Bijelo Polje, consisting of the Mayor of the Municipality Petar Smolović and the Head of the International Cooperation Office Damir Mustajbašić, paid a working visit to the Republic of Turkey, where they also visited the sister municipality of Burhanija, with which Bijelo Polje has been fostering friendly and partnership relations since 2013, the Municipality of Bijelo Polje announced.

"During the meeting with the Mayor of Burhanija Municipality Ali Kemal Deveciler, the discussion focused on the common history, cultural ties that connect our peoples, as well as the possibilities of improving future cooperation in the areas of culture, tourism, economy and local self-government. In a friendly and cordial atmosphere, mutual readiness to continue and strengthen partnership relations between the two municipalities was confirmed, with a special emphasis on connecting citizens and institutions," the statement said.

In addition to Burhanija, the delegation of the Municipality of Bijelo Polje also visited the Municipalities of Ayvalik and Gomeč, where they discussed possibilities for cooperation and exchange of experiences with the mayors of the municipalities, Mesut Ergin and Melih Bagcı.
