The Ministry of Defense and the State Archives signed a Cooperation Agreement today, which establishes a framework for improving cooperation in the field of archival activities, research and preservation of documentary materials of importance to Montenegro.
The agreement was signed by the Minister of Defense Dragan Krapović and the Director of the State Archives of Montenegro Danilo Mrvaljević.
The Ministry of Defense announced that the Agreement provides for the exchange of professional knowledge and experience, the implementation of joint research and professional projects, as well as cooperation in the promotion of archival materials and historical heritage.
"Special emphasis was placed on the exchange of information on contemporary archival practice, methodological standards and professional literature in the field of archival science," the statement said.
It is stated that the agreement also provides for the exchange of experts and researchers to conduct joint research and study archival materials, as well as providing access to archival materials open to the public and reference materials important for scientific research work.
"The cooperation will also include the organization of joint exhibitions, participation in scientific and professional conferences, and the preparation and publication of joint publications, collections of documents and other professional content," the statement added.
The Ministry said that the signing of this agreement confirms the joint commitment of this government department and the State Archives to strengthening institutional cooperation, preserving archival heritage, and improving the availability of historical materials of importance to the state and its citizens.
