The owners of several houses on the Bojana River, whose demolition was announced for April 21st but postponed the same day, have requested the dismissal of the Mayor of the Municipality in the continuation of the proceedings. Gentry of Nimanbegu, Head of the Secretariat for Communal Supervision and Inspection Affairs Amir Mehmeti and the chief administrator Naser Resulbegović, due to doubts about the legality of the work of the Municipal Police, "Vijesti" learns.

Nimanbegu wrote to the president of the Ulcinj Municipal Assembly about this. Ivan Popovic, from whom he requested that the Assembly members express their views on the requests for exemption.

In the letter from Popović, which "Vijesti" had access to, Nimanbegu explained that the legal representatives of the parties had addressed requests for the exclusion of the Mayor, the Head of the Secretariat for Communal Supervision and Inspection Affairs, and the Chief Administrator as a second-instance body.

"Given the legal gap where it is not prescribed which body decides on the exclusion of the Mayor, we have contacted the relevant ministry responsible for local government affairs to make a decision or provide an opinion on further action. The Ministry's opinion is that they are not responsible for deciding on the exclusion of the Mayor, but rather that it is the body that supervises his work. Therefore, the Ministry's opinion is that the request for the exclusion of the Mayor should be decided by the Municipal Assembly," Nimanbegu's letter states.

He believes that, given that this is an identical legal matter, the Assembly should decide on all three requests, even though two of them apply to him.

Popović scheduled the Assembly, whose last item on the agenda will be the consideration of the request for the removal of the Mayor, for Thursday.

The Secretariat for Supervision and Inspection Affairs previously issued 11 final decisions on the removal of illegally constructed buildings and houses on Bojana and Ada. The demolition was scheduled for April 21st, and the Public Company for Coastal Zone Management, through a tender procedure, hired a private company for the job.

On the first day of the action, two platforms were demolished.

Mehmeti said at the time that due to administrative procedures, the action to remove other illegal structures was postponed until the beginning of next week.

The owner's legal representatives filed the exemption requests the day before, that is, the same day the demolition was scheduled.

In two of the three requests, it is stated that the owners of the houses doubt the legality of the work of the Municipal Police, and are requesting the exemption of all municipal inspectors, Mehmeti, Resulbegović and Nimanbegu.

The third request does not seek the exemption of Nimanbegu, but of all utility inspectors, Mehmeti, Resulbegović and the acting urban planning and construction inspector. Arifa Ibrahimija.

The legal representatives previously submitted a request to the Basic Court in Ulcinj to secure evidence.
