The "Culture on the Move" project sent a strong message that learning is best when knowledge is connected to experience, and culture is brought closer to children and young people in a way that includes, encourages and inspires them, it was assessed at the event where the results of the initiative were presented.

Minister of Education, Science and Innovation Anđela Jakšić Stojanović emphasized that the "Culture on the Move" project represents a successful example of cooperation between state institutions, local communities and international partners, which aims to promote culture as an indispensable segment of the educational process at all levels.

"What I would particularly highlight is the exceptional dedication, creativity and energy of our students and their mentors who have recently brought some forgotten worlds, characters and customs to life before our eyes, reminding us of how much schools can be a stimulating and motivating space, if students are given the freedom to create, imagine, create and actively participate in processes, instead of being passive recipients of information," said Jakšić Stojanović.

As she added, this project is important not only at the institutional, but also at the strategic level, especially in the context of the education system reform that is being intensively worked on.

Minister of Culture and Media Tamara Vujović emphasized that the goal of the project was to connect cultural and educational institutions through the participation of children in projects that perceive cultural heritage in a different way, taking into account their experience and feelings towards culture.

"Today, at the end of the "Culture on the Move" project, we feel satisfaction for everything that this project has managed to initiate, not only through workshops, presentations and joint work, but above all through encounters, new experiences and a different understanding of culture and cultural heritage," said Vujović.

The Head of the UNESCO Office in Sarajevo, Siniša Šešum, emphasized that it is of particular importance that Montenegro, through this initiative, is demonstrating leadership in the region, implementing one of the first comprehensive programs aligned with the UNESCO Framework for Culture and Arts Education, and that in this way UNESCO's global principles are becoming a concrete local reality.

He stated that in the previous months, students, teachers and cultural workers from 14 schools across the country had been involved in a dedicated process of research, creative work and joint reflection on cultural heritage, identity, dialogue and shared values.

"The results of that work were presented through local events in Cetinje, Pljevlja and Ulcinj, which were not only an opportunity to present projects, but also an important space for students from different municipalities to meet, exchange experiences and strengthen cultural diversity," said Šešum.

The Director of the Institute for Education, Raba Hodžić, said that culture cannot exist without education, just as education cannot exist without culture.

"With the "Culture on the Move" initiative, we have together sent a strong message - that learning is best when knowledge is connected to experience, and culture is brought closer to children and young people in a way that includes, encourages and inspires them," said Hodžić.

At the end of the event, Šešum presented certificates of appreciation to the principals and representatives of the schools that participated in this project.

The "Culture on the Move" project is a joint initiative of UNESCO and the National Museum of Montenegro, implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, the Ministry of Culture and Media, the Institute for Education and local cultural institutions.

The activity is part of the joint UN program "Strengthening Citizens' Trust in Institutions and Building Resilient Communities", implemented by UNDP, UNICEF and UNESCO in partnership with the Government of Montenegro, with financial support from the United Nations Peacebuilding Fund.
