The first phase of Vojislavljevića Boulevard, from King Nikola Street to Princess Ksenija Street, has been opened to traffic, announced Podgorica Mayor Saša Mujović, adding that work is continuing at an accelerated pace.

He said that this is one of the most important city projects, and that work is continuing on the second section.

"I believe that by mid-September we will have the second section of this boulevard completed," said Mujović.

He, as announced by the Capital City, emphasized that the optimism for the completion of the works is based on the fact that the same technical solutions from the first phase can be applied to the continuation of the route, which will speed up the execution of the works.

According to him, the completion of the project will significantly improve the traffic infrastructure in the Zabjelo settlement.

Mujović said that work on the extension of Veljko Vlahović Boulevard should begin in two to three months and that this will represent the "crown" of the entire project.

"It seems to me that this will be very significant for the city's infrastructure, that we will greatly improve traffic, increase traffic flow and do a great thing for Podgorica," said Mujović.

The Director of the Traffic Administration, Radomir Vuksanović, recalled that work on the second phase of Vojislavljević Boulevard began in early May, through activities to uncover installations and prepare the terrain, and that work is already being carried out intensively on that section.

"The physical part of the work in the first phase of the project is mostly completed and the fine finishing works on this section remain. What is very important is that the works are slowly transferred to the second phase. The expectations are that we will have this section completed by September, while we expect to start work on the third phase during the summer," said Vuksanović.

He said that the Capital City and the Traffic Administration expect the entire project to be completed in accordance with the contract, that is, by the end of the year.
