Montenegro will host the Junior Balkan Mathematical Olympiad next year, the Government decided at today's session.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation (MESI) announced that, at the proposal of that department, the Government adopted the Information on the organization of this international competition and gave its consent for the Examination Center of Montenegro to be responsible for its implementation.
As they stated, the Montenegrin education system is clearly aimed at strengthening STEM fields, developing digital competencies, and increasing the international competitiveness of students.
"The organization of the Junior Balkan Mathematical Olympiad represents a concrete step in that direction, as it affirms work with gifted students, encourages the development of talents and further strengthens international cooperation in the field of education," the Ministry of Education and Science emphasized.
They said that this Olympiad will be an opportunity for Montenegro to bring together the most talented young mathematicians in the region, as well as prominent experts and representatives of educational institutions, which will further improve the international visibility of our education system.
The Ministry of Education and Science said that the organization of this significant event also represents a strong contribution to the realization of the goal of "Extraordinary Education for an Extraordinary Montenegro", as it contributes to improving the quality of education, encouraging excellence, and creating a stimulating environment for the development of young talents.
"At the same time, this directly supports the goals of the medium-term program of the Government of Montenegro through talent development, strengthening STEM education, and networking with leading educational institutions and experts from the region and the world," the statement said.
