At the initiative of the Civic Movement URA councilors' club, the Municipality of Mojkovac will mark 20 years since the restoration of Montenegro's independence. The program, as announced, includes a performance by stand-up comedians the Šuković brothers, the promotion of a book about Montenegro by Veljko Veljović, and the planting of fruit trees in school yards.
"On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the restoration of Montenegro's independence, a special program will be organized, within which stand-up comedians the Šuković brothers (Igor and Aleksandar) will perform on May 19, 2026, at 20 p.m. at the Mojkovac Cultural Center. After the comedy evening, on May 20, at 20 p.m., also at the Cultural Center, an "evening of love for Montenegro" will be held, through the promotion of the poetry book "Meet me so you can love me more" by the Mojkovac poet and director of the International Cultural Association (IKA) Veljko Veljović. Young talented Mojkovac residents Una Ćorić, Ana Bulatović and Vladana Rakočević will also perform that evening. Veljko Veljović's poems will be recited by Bojana Ana Kleut, Jana Veljović and Maša Ćetković, accompanied by pianist Mina Jovanović. In addition to the author, Professor Veljko Dedejić will speak about the book, who will also be the moderator of the evening," the organizers announced.
In parallel with these events, a multi-day fruit tree planting campaign in the schoolyards of Mojkovac will begin on May 19th, entitled "20 for the Future".
"The Municipality of Mojkovac, through this action, symbolically wants to show its commitment to investing in the future of Mojkovac's children, creating a healthier, greener and more beautiful environment for growing up. This action also wants to send a strong message to children to protect, nurture and develop the planted trees for the generations that come after them, just as Mojkovac and Montenegro should be protected, nurtured and developed," say the organizers.
