The center of Šavnik is now adorned with a new work of art that dignifies the great national jubilee - 20 years since the restoration of Montenegro's independence, the Municipality of Šavnik announced today.
"A mural under the symbolic title 'Cradle of Pride, Guard of Freedom' has been successfully completed on the facade of the Municipality building.", which represents an authentic blend of tradition, history and vision of the future of this region. The author of this impressive work is Mišo Joskić, one of the most prominent Montenegrin muralists, whose recognizable handwriting has breathed new aesthetic life into the very core of the city. The mural is dominated by motifs of the Montenegrin flag and symbolism celebrating two decades of sovereignty, while carefully chosen details reflect the strength, pride and unbreakable bond of the people with their country," the statement said.
Oz Municipalities added that with this project, Šavnik has joined the cities that preserve cultural and historical heritage and strengthen national identity through contemporary urban art.
"The mural is not just a visual refresher, but a permanent monument to the freedom-loving tradition that will serve as a reminder of the historical significance of May 21st for generations to come. The local government emphasizes that engaging Joskić was a logical step, given that his works carry deep emotion and send strong messages. The completion of the works represents the crowning of the official program marking the great state jubilee in Šavnik, sending a clear message about the unity and lasting values that this region jealously guards," said the Municipality of Nikšić.
