The Red Cross of Montenegro announced that the 51st National First Aid Competition was organized for a total of 21 teams of youth from 12 municipalities and the Capital City.
As stated in the statement, the state competition was preceded by competitions in Red Cross organizations at the local level, and 11 youth teams and 10 youth teams earned their place in the state competition.
As they said, the following cities had their representatives at the competition: Bar, Berane, Herceg Novi, Kolašin, Kotor, Nikšić, Plav, Pljevlja, Podgorica, Rožaje, Tivat, Tuzi and Zeta.
The best results were achieved by the first aid teams:
In the youth category, the best results were achieved by the first aid teams, OOCK Rožaje, Elementary School “Dašo Pavičić”, Herceg Novi, OOCK Zeta.
And in the youth category: first aid team JUSMŠ Podgorica, first aid team OOCK Rožaje, first aid team OOCK Tivat.
The competition, which was held this year at the Red Cross Training Center - Solidarity House in Sutomore, was opened by the President of the Red Cross of Montenegro, Mitar Vučković.
"We are particularly pleased that we have gathered in large numbers today, confirming once again that we are united in humanity, solidarity and willingness to help each other when it is most needed. It is through first aid that we show how knowledge, empathy and responsibility towards the community are values that connect us and make us a stronger society," said Vučković.
He added that "first aid is not just a set of procedures and techniques that are learned and forgotten."
"It represents a lasting value, responsibility and willingness to act for the benefit of others. That is why it is important that we return first aid to its rightful place, especially in the education system, as knowledge that never becomes obsolete and that can make one of you a hero and the pride of your community tomorrow," he emphasized.
The Red Cross congratulated the teams that won the first three places in the youth and youth categories and all other teams for, as they said, the knowledge they demonstrated and the skills they acquired that can help themselves and others when needed most.
