ŽPCG: Extraordinary train departures from Bar during the three-day celebration of the restoration of independence

The Railway Transport of Montenegro (ŽPCG) announced that on the occasion of marking the 20th anniversary of the restoration of Montenegro's independence and the three-day celebration program organized by the Municipality of Bar and the Bar Tourist Organization, they are organizing extraordinary train departures from Bar during all three evenings of the event.

"The Municipality of Bar and the Bar Tourist Organization have prepared a rich entertainment program, which further enriches the city's tourist offer and solemnly marks the beginning of the tourist season in Bar. The program begins on May 21st with a performance by the popular group Dubioza kolektiv, while the following evening, May 22nd, the audience can expect a performance by the legendary group Parni Valjak. The local band 'Akademija' will perform as the opening act, and the last evening of the celebration is planned for May 23rd, when Šetalište kralja Nikola will be dominated by electronic music with performances by DJ Marko Milanović, DJ Tom Novy and DJ Burak Yeter," the statement reads.

Special trains, as added by ŽPCG, will operate after the end of the concert program on King Nikola's Promenade on the nights between May 21 and 22, May 22 and 23, as well as May 23 and 24, with departure from Bar to Podgorica at 01:30.

"To go to Bar, visitors can choose one of the regular departures on the Podgorica - Bar route, and given that the performances start at 21:00 PM, we recommend departing from Podgorica at 19:36 PM," it says.

ŽPCG adds that, in addition, due to increased passenger interest and the expected attendance at the event, they will organize an extraordinary departure from Podgorica to Bar on May 21st at 03:00.

"By introducing extraordinary departures, ŽPCG is contributing to the promotion of sustainable mobility and the use of rail transport as a safe and environmentally friendly mode of transport, especially among young people who will attend concerts and accompanying events in large numbers," the statement reads.

They also said that they were pleased to participate in the celebration of an anniversary of special importance for Montenegro.

"...Confirming our commitment to connecting cities and supporting cultural and tourist events, while improving the quality of service for passengers. We invite all citizens and visitors to choose the train as a safe, comfortable and environmentally friendly mode of transport for their holiday travel and together celebrate 20 years of independence of Montenegro," it concludes.
