The President of the Executive Board of the Bosniak Council, Mirsad Rastoder, said that the ties between Bosniaks and Montenegro are unbreakable, recalling the contribution of the Bosniak people to the restoration of independence and the tracing of the country's European path.
He said this at the Ceremonial Academy titled "Bosniaks to their Montenegro" and the program "Let me tell you with a song", on the occasion of 20 years since the restoration of independence, which was held at the Bijelo Polje Cultural Center.
The program was organized by the Bosniak Council and the National Council of Bosniaks of Montenegro, and the creators who made an exceptional contribution to Bosniak identity in various fields of activity were awarded the "Rifat Burdžović Tršo" and "Husein Bašić" awards.
Rastoder pointed out that the vision of Montenegro is as a mosaic of diversity in which Bosniak culture, art and tradition form an indispensable and enriching part, while paying tribute to predecessors who had vision and courage in critical moments, emphasizing the willingness of the people to contribute to the strengthening of the common good and state institutions through charity and work.
"To develop a community of freedom, peace, security, justice and equality, which respects and cherishes cultural and linguistic differences, traditions and national identities of all peoples, and guarantees the institutional implementation of official policies in education, culture and the balanced development of all municipalities and regions," said Rastoder, congratulating on that occasion all those celebrating Independence Day in their homeland and around the world.
The President of the Bosniak Council in Montenegro, Suljo Mustafić, recalled that a joint decision was made in Montenegro to reaffirm the historical name Bosniak, which returns this people to the historical stage while respecting their own tradition and history.
Emphasizing the great contribution of Bosniaks to the restoration of Montenegro's independence, he pointed out that the Bosniak people are defined as a factor of stability and integration and as a bridge connecting neighboring countries.
"Bosniaks have always contributed, and I am sure that they will continue to contribute in the future to the stability of this country, the stability of the region, and of course, regardless of everything that happened to them in the past, they are always people of great mercy and great openness to accept all the differences with which they have lived here for centuries," Mustafić emphasized. Creators who have made an exceptional contribution to Bosniak identity in various fields of activity were awarded the "Rifat Burdžović-Tršo" and "Husein Bašić" awards.
The "Rifat Burdžović-Tršo" award was posthumously awarded to Rafet Husović for his contribution to the affirmation of Bosniaks and their position in the political and social system of Montenegro, and to historian, Dr. Sait Šabotic, for his overall pedagogical, scientific, journalistic and academic contribution.
In the field of literature, the "Husein Bašić" award was awarded to Saladin Dino Burdžović.
Burdžović, who has received a large number of awards over the course of three decades, said that those that come from his hometown are always special to him, emphasizing that the awards are not just professional recognition, but an opportunity to remember great writers and friends.
"This award is also a significant opportunity to remember this great writer, Husein Bašić was both a literary and moral giant, he left a great mark, I can certainly say in South Slavic literature, because we cannot tie him to either Bosniakism or Montenegro, he belonged to a generation of great writers who created during the time of the Great Yugoslavia"; said Burdžović.
The musical part of the program was attended by the “Pljevaljski tamburitza players”, Asja Džogović, Adis Murić, Izudin Ciriković, Ema Adrović, Irma Nurković and Aldijana Tuzlak.
The program was hosted by Albina Osmanović.
