The non-governmental organization (NGO) "Take Care of Yourself" donated a modern chair for administering chemotherapy to the Clinical Center of Montenegro (KCCG), KCCG announced today.
"As part of the activities arising from the Race for the Cure humanitarian race, the Institute of Oncology of the Clinical Center of Montenegro (KCCG) was presented with a modern chair for administering chemotherapy, purchased with funds collected during the previous edition of the event, worth 6.110,50 euros. The donation was made by the NGO 'Brini o sebi', the organizer of the race, led by president Ivona Dabetić. The NGO 'Brini o sebi', through its many years of work, has continuously contributed to raising awareness about prevention and providing support to women facing breast cancer," the statement said.
KCCG said that it is a "Multiline Next DC model with five motors, which allow for adjusting the height of the chair, backrest, seat, leg section and footrest, which provides patients with additional comfort during long-term therapies, and makes medical staff's work easier and more functional."
"The chair is also equipped with additional equipment that contributes to a better quality of stay and greater practicality in everyday use: a neck roller, a relaxation pillow, transparent leg covers and a footrest, a push handle with a paper holder, an infusion stand, a rotating patient table, as well as battery power that allows additional flexibility in use," the statement reads.
The KCCG said that this donation is of great importance for the daily work of the Institute of Oncology and the patient experience.
"The new chemotherapy chair will contribute to increasing the capacity of the Day Hospital, more efficient organization of therapies and shorter waiting times, which means more accessible and higher-quality treatment for patients for whom continuity of treatment is of particular importance. The organizers announce that this year the fourth edition of Race for the Cure will be held in Podgorica, under the license of Think Pink Europe, with the continuation of the mission of raising funds and providing concrete support to women suffering from breast cancer. The humanitarian race and accompanying programs will once again bring the community together around a common goal - support, prevention and solidarity," the KCCG statement reads.
