The richest country is not the one with the most buildings, but the one with the happiest children, said Montenegrin President Jakov Milatović at the opening of the First International Children's Theater Festival in Danilovgrad.
Milatović, addressing the children, parents, artists and citizens of Danilovgrad, said that during the festival days, the city will become a stage of imagination, a city of fairy tales, puppets, music, acting, dance and applause, a place where every street will have its own story and every smile its own magic.
As announced by the President's Office, it was particularly emphasized that it is children who remind adults of true values, that is, where adults sometimes see limits, children see opportunities.
They stated that it was emphasized that it is everyone's responsibility to build a Montenegro in which every child has the opportunity to dream, create and grow with culture, knowledge and support from the community.
"The most beautiful city is the one where children's laughter can be heard. The richest country is not the one with the most buildings, but the one with the happiest children," Milatović emphasized.
The statement states that a particularly emotional part of the address referred to the need for children to always feel safe, cared for, and have faith in their dreams.
"In this context, it was emphasized that children do not ask for much, they ask that we see them, listen to them and believe in them," the statement said.
Milatović pointed out that the festival is much more than a cultural event, that it is a place where children are not guests, but the main characters.
Declaring the festival open, he told the children to "not let anyone tell them their dreams are small or impossible."
"Because everything great that exists today was once someone's childhood imagination," said Milatović.
