The Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation of Montenegro and the Federal Ministry for Women, Science and Research of the Republic of Austria have launched a Call for Proposals for co-financing scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries for the period from 2026 to 2028, within the framework of the Agreement between the Government of Montenegro and the Government of the Republic of Austria on Scientific and Technological Cooperation, and both ministries will allocate 10.000 euros each for projects, announced the department of Anđela Jakšić-Stojanović.
As they state, after the evaluation process of the submitted projects by both countries, and in accordance with the defined criteria of the Competition and available budgetary funds, the Mixed Commission for Scientific and Technological Cooperation between Montenegro and Austria, at a meeting held on June 2, 2026 in Podgorica, made a decision to financially support nine out of a total of ten submitted project proposals.
They add that the start of the implementation of the approved projects is planned for July 1, 2026, while their implementation will last until June 30, 2028. The projects will be implemented through cooperation between researchers from Montenegro and Austria, including their mutual visits and work in joint research teams.
For the implementation of the projects, the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation will allocate funds in the amount of up to EUR 10.000 per project for the Montenegrin research team, while the Federal Ministry for Women, Science and Research will provide the same amount of funds for the Austrian research team.

The next call for joint project proposals will be published in autumn 2027.
