The President of the Municipality of Nikšić, Marko Kovačević, together with his associates and the President of the Nikšić Municipal Assembly, Milica Lalatović Žižić, officially announced the start of works on a section of Baja Pivljanina Street, worth around 350 thousand euros, the Service for Cooperation, Presidential Affairs and Information announced.
On that occasion, he said that the local government continues to invest intensively in road infrastructure.
"We have started another project related to road infrastructure in the inner city. This is Baja Pivljanina Street, the part that was ruined and quite neglected, from the 'Durmitor' restaurant towards Dragova Luka. We expect the works to be completed in four months and we think that this part of the street will be the most beautiful in the city when the works are completed. It is important that we continue with projects like this - arranging streets, expanding parking spaces, and works on Druge dalmatinske brigade Street will soon be completed. We are working at a steady, high intensity and I hope that we will continue like this in the coming period," Kovačević emphasized.
Lalatović Žižić emphasized the importance of balanced development of infrastructure and green spaces.
"Our citizens will have the opportunity to use a new, more organized and modern road infrastructure, which will realize everything that has been planned. In addition to developing road infrastructure, we are also taking care of green areas, which are very important for a better, more beautiful and more pleasant life in our city," she said.
The Vice President of the Municipality of Nikšić, Zoran Tomić, presented the basic details of the project and the dynamics of its implementation.
"The project consists of two phases: the first concerns hydrotechnical works, carried out by DOO 'Vodovod i kanalizacija' Nikšić, while the second phase concerns traffic and public lighting, and the works are carried out by the company 'Sun invest'. The deadline for the works is four months, and the project is financed by the Municipality of Nikšić. We hope that the works will be completed on time and we believe that the citizens of this part of the city will get a modern road," said Tomić.
