The Secretariat for Rural and Sustainable Development of the Municipality of Bijelo Polje has issued a Public Call for the procurement and installation of energy-efficient air conditioners for 2026, the local government announced.

A total budget of 100.000 euros has been allocated for the implementation of this environmental measure, and citizens can claim financial support of up to 50 percent of the investment value.

The main goal of this initiative is to improve energy efficiency in households, reduce heating costs, but also directly protect air quality. The financial support aims to stimulate the transition to more modern heating systems in order to reduce the emission of harmful PM10 and PM2.5 particles, which are predominantly produced by the use of solid fuels such as wood and coal during the winter months.

The amount of support depends on the power of the selected air conditioner, and the maximum subsidy amounts are strictly defined: up to 200 percent for air conditioners with a capacity of 12 BTU, up to 400 percent for air conditioners with a capacity of 18 BTU, up to 500 percent for air conditioners with a capacity of 24 BTU.

Only adult citizens who have an official residence in the territory of the municipality of Bijelo Polje have the right to participate.

According to the terms of the public call, the procurement of exclusively energy-efficient air conditioners of high efficiency class (A+ inverter) is subsidized.

Interested citizens can submit their requests directly to the registry office of the Municipality of Bijelo Polje, which is addressed to the Secretariat for Rural and Sustainable Development. The public call is open until the planned funds are spent, after which the measure will be closed.

Citizens can obtain all additional information by calling 050/484-805 every working day from 7 a.m. to 15 p.m.

The complete text of the call and the accompanying application form can be downloaded from the official website of the Municipality of Bijelo Polje.
