The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), for the needs of the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation (MESI), has announced a call for proposals tend for the selection of a designer who will prepare a conceptual design and main project for the construction of a new elementary school in the Stari Aerodrom settlement in Podgorica.
As announced by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, the school will be built on urban plot UP 30, which is located within the scope of the DUP "Konik - Old Airport - Phase III", and includes part of the cadastral plot 7893/15 KO Podgorica III.
The total area of the urban plot is 16.587 square meters, while the land for construction was provided by the Capital City.
The Ministry of Education and Science said that the new elementary school is planned to be a modern and functional facility with a gross construction area of approximately 8.800 square meters. The school's capacity is planned for 500 students in one shift, or up to 1.000 students in two shifts.
"The facility should be a modern building, in accordance with its purpose, which can be achieved both through its external appearance and through a functional solution and the impression that the interior space would leave. By designing a cluster-type facility, the aim is to improve the functional organization of educational facilities. A cluster involves unifying classrooms and supporting spaces into a single spatial unit, connected by a common multifunctional area. Such an organization strengthens cooperation between different departments and enables the formation of clear and functionally complete units within the school facility. Up to 150 students of different ages, approximately 6 to 14 years old, reside within one cluster during the school day or full-day program," the statement said.
The project envisages the construction of 18 classrooms with specialized cabinets, two gyms, as well as outdoor sports fields.
