The Board of Directors of the "Budvanska Rivijera" Hotel Group rejected the claims of the President of the Budva Municipality, Nikola Jovanović, that the hotel company is ignoring them regarding the transfer of two parking lots in Petrovac.
They reacted to the article "Parking Lot Politics: No Agreement Between the Municipality of Budva and the Hotel Group 'Budvanska Riviera'", which was published yesterday on the Vijesti portal.
"In order to truthfully and fully inform the citizens of Budva and the Montenegrin public, the Board of Directors of the 'Budvanska Riviera' Hotel Group points out that the claims of the Municipality of Budva, presented in the aforementioned text, that, due to two parking lots in Petrovac, 'the largest hotel company in majority state ownership is ignoring them', are not true. Namely, it is true that the Municipality of Budva addressed the management of 'Budvanska Riviera' with letters of intent to purchase plots in Budva and Petrovac. On this occasion, an official meeting was held between the management of Budvanska Riviera and the President of the Municipality of Budva, Nikola Jovanović, which discussed the interests of the Municipality of Budva," the response states.
As emphasized by "Budvanska rivijera", the meeting concluded that it was necessary for the Municipality of Budva to specify its requests and supplement them with the necessary data so that they could be the subject of lawful decision-making by the Company's management.
"However, to this day, such requests, for reasons unknown to us, have not been submitted to the Board of Directors. For this reason, Mr. Jovanović's claim that they still do not have a response from Budva Riviera and that they have not met with understanding from its management is surprising. Without intending to enter into the issues of investment investments by the Municipality of Budva and the implementation of Mr. Jovanović's pre-election promises, we point out that the culprit for the lack of parking spaces and garages in the Municipality of Budva cannot be found on the side of 'Budva Riviera' and its current management," the Board of Directors' response states.
They point out that the current management is responsibly leading the Company's policy, which is confirmed by the fact that the parking lot at the Post Office in Petrovac will be fully functional in a few days and will be at the service of guests of the hotels "Palas", "Castellastva", "Palas Lux", as well as the citizens of Petrovac.
"Therefore, this parking lot will be available to everyone, in the same way as the parking lot in the 'Slovenska plaža' Tourist Resort. When it comes to the parking lot near Volija, in the center of Petrovac, we inform the public that the plot in question has not yet been registered with the Budva Riviera, although a request for registration of ownership has been duly submitted, which is why the plot in question cannot be the subject of legal disposal. Any disposal, including leasing, without formal registration of ownership rights in the cadastre, would be illegal, which the management of the Budva Riviera will not allow, regardless of who the premature requests for purchase or lease come from - the Municipality of Budva, interested legal or natural persons," the Board of Directors states.
As they add in part about the interest of the Municipality of Budva in building a "multi-storey underground garage" on their plot near the "Avala" hotel, they point out that at the aforementioned joint meeting, Jovanović clarified that it is still possible to build exclusively an above-ground garage.
"Expressing concern about how the prefabricated garage will visually fit into the ambience of the Budva city center, the Board of Directors requested the delivery of the finished project in order to have a clear picture of how such a garage will look. To date, no such or similar project has been submitted to us for review and consideration. Finally, we would like to point out to the citizens of Budva that the management of Budva Riviera will continue to be uncompromisingly committed to respecting and implementing the law, protecting the rights and interests of the Company, taking into account corporate social responsibility. Therefore, whoever is guided by the principles of legal business and the benefits for our Company, the Municipality of Budva and Montenegro will always have a constructive and serious partner in the management of 'Budva Riviera'," the response concludes.
