The competition for the enrollment of semi-graduates in 51 high schools will most likely be announced next week, "Vijesti" has learned.
According to unofficial information, around 7.400 students graduated from primary schools, and more than 10.200 places in secondary schools will be available to them throughout Montenegro.
"Gymnasium education programs will offer around 2.500 places for new students, while vocational schools will offer almost 5.000 places in four-year programs. When it comes to three-year programs, there are places for more than 2.500 new students in the schools. Art schools will offer almost 200 places," "Vijesti" was told unofficially.
Applications for the competition will, as in previous years, be submitted electronically via the portal upisi.edu.me, and students using the application for enrollment for the first time must register beforehand.
During the application deadline, school committees are required to publish an updated ranking list of candidates who applied by 3 p.m. each day, according to the editorial team's sources. The ranking list is published on the school noticeboard and contains for each candidate the name, name of the parent or guardian, surname, as well as the number of points achieved individually according to the criteria evaluated for enrollment and the total number of points achieved.
According to the Regulation on the method, procedure and evaluation of admission criteria, general success in the last three grades of primary school, results from external tests of knowledge in the mother tongue, mathematics and one chosen subject, grades in subjects important for continuing education, as well as achievements in national and international competitions are evaluated in gymnasiums.
Special conditions apply for enrollment in specialized classes of grammar schools - for the mathematics class, a grade of A in mathematics at the external matriculation examination is required, or, exceptionally, at least a grade of C, but with excellent grades in two classes.
For the philology department, a grade of A in the mother tongue and a foreign language are required, and a grade of A is also possible, but with excellent grades in the last two grades of elementary school.
When enrolling in the sports department of high schools, in addition to grades, medals and performances in sports and school competitions, membership in clubs and the national team are also taken into account, and priority is given to students with the best results.
According to the rules, when enrolling in the first grade of secondary vocational schools, candidates are given a general grade point average, the average from the seventh, eighth, and ninth grades is calculated, the sum of which is divided by three, and the resulting result is rounded to two decimal places.
External knowledge assessment is evaluated in such a way that an excellent grade carries 10 points, very good - seven, good - four, sufficient - one, while insufficient grades are not awarded.
