Demolition of nine illegal structures on Bojana scheduled for tomorrow

The continuation of the campaign to remove illegal structures from the banks of the Bojana River is scheduled for tomorrow. This was confirmed to "Vijesti" by the Secretary for Communal Supervision and Inspection Affairs Amir Mehmeti, whose department previously issued 11 final decisions on the removal of illegally constructed structures and houses on the Bojana and Ada Rivers.

In the action, which began on April 21, two platforms were removed, but further activities, as explained at the time in the Municipality, were postponed due to administrative procedures.

"In the continuation of the action, we will intervene in nine locations," Mehmeti told "Vijesti" today.

Meanwhile, the owners of several houses on the Bojana River, whose demolition was announced for April 21, have requested the dismissal of the Mayor of the Municipality Gencij Nimanbegu, the Head of the Secretariat for Communal Supervision and Inspection Affairs Amir Mehmeti, and the Chief Administrator Naser Resulbegović, due to doubts about the legality of the work of the Municipal Police.

The Ulcinj Municipal Assembly, at a session held in mid-May, rejected that request.

Legal representatives of several owners previously filed a request with the Basic Court in Ulcinj to secure evidence.

Illegal structures on the river banks are being removed by a company hired by the Public Company Morsko dobro through a tender procedure.

According to unofficial information, there are currently close to 800 buildings built on the banks of the Bojana and Ada rivers.
