Minister of Education, Science and Innovation Anđela Jakšić-Stojanović and Minister of Public Works Majda Adžović visited the "Vuk Karadžić" Elementary School in Podgorica today, on the occasion of the start of works on the adaptation of the roof of the school buildings, worth more than 200.000 euros, the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation (MPNI) announced.
As they state, the project includes works on the renovation of flat and pitched roofs of school pavilions, multifunctional halls and locker rooms, as well as the renovation of rooms, and the value of the works is 234.941,55 euros including VAT, while the deadline for the completion of the works is 90 days.
Jakšić-Stojanović said that the implementation of this project allows for the resolution of a major challenge that the school faced in the previous period.
"Solving the roof problem will create conditions for the implementation of other activities that are important for improving conditions in this school. That is why at the beginning of the month the school announced a tender for the complete renovation of the school's interior, for which the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation provided funds in the amount of 120 thousand euros. We expect that this procedure will also be successfully completed. Also, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, the Ministry of Sports and the Center for the Promotion of Sports and Youth (CAMS), this school is included in the project 'Let the Ball Be Heard', within the framework of which the school grounds will be completely renovated, which will create much better conditions for the students of this school," she stated.
Adžović said that improving educational infrastructure remains one of the priorities of the Government of Montenegro.
"Improving educational infrastructure remains a priority, as quality and functional school facilities are an important prerequisite for a successful educational process," she said.
