Mugoša: I will ask for a hearing from the authorities regarding peer violence again

The President of the European Union's MEPs' Club, Boris Mugoša, emphasized that he would request a hearing of the authorities on the topic of peer violence, adding that in the previous three years, at his initiative, such a procedure had been initiated twice.

He announced that the latest report by the State Audit Institution confirmed that there are clearly no substantial steps forward in this area, and that he will therefore request that the topic be reopened in Parliament until, as he states, the situation in this very problematic area is improved.

The State Audit Institution, in a recently published report on the Effectiveness of Combating Peer Violence in Montenegro, found that Montenegro failed to establish a functional system for monitoring, reporting and assessing the effects of measures to combat peer violence in the period from 2017 to 2025. The audit shows that peer violence is on the rise, that numerous activities have remained unimplemented, and that institutions do not have reliable data on the basis of which to measure the results of the implemented measures.

"Of course, everything that happens in schools is an echo of the value environment, and I often talk about that. Instead of dealing with life issues and serious social challenges, public discourse is focused on cheap pre-election labeling of all those who point out, with arguments, numerous social deviations," Mugoša concludes.
