International scientific conference begins in Ulcinj: Conference on Communications and Computer Networks

An international scientific conference in the field of communication networks, information technologies and digital communications in the Balkan region, "BalkanCom 2026 - Ninth International Balkan Conference on Communications and Networking", began yesterday in Ulcinj.

The conference, as stated in the statement of the BalkanCom 2026 Organizing Committee, is organized under the auspices of the IEEE Communications Society, the world's largest professional organization in the field of communications technologies, and every year brings together leading researchers, university professors, engineers and representatives of the technology industry from Europe, the United States, Asia and other parts of the world.

It is added that this year's conference theme is "Networks Meet Intelligence: The Future is Now" and that the program will include the latest achievements in the fields of computer and communication networks, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, wireless communications, the Internet of Things (IoT), 5G and 6G technologies, and intelligent systems and digital transformation.

"Among the participants and lecturers are distinguished professors and researchers from the world's leading universities, as well as prominent experts from the international technology industry, whose work shapes the future of the Internet and global communication systems - Edward Knightly, Latif Ladid, Danijela Čabrić and Marija Furdek. We would especially like to emphasize that the plenary lectures will be open to the public, and we invite interested citizens, students, professors, IT professionals and all science and technology enthusiasts to attend these lectures and hear first-hand about the latest achievements in the field of digital technologies," the statement reads.

The conference will last until Friday, June 19th.
