The Municipality of Tivat today awarded the most successful Tivat students: winners of the Luča diploma, students of the generation, and award winners at state competitions.
The awards were presented to the best by the Mayor of the Municipality of Tivat Željko Komnenović and the Secretary for Social Affairs Olivera Mišković Vidojević.
"The one who decided to name your diploma Luča did not do so by chance. You are the light that illuminates the path for those who are just starting on that path. Neither light nor darkness can overcome it. In a world where false values, false morality, ignorance, Chat GPT, copying are celebrated... you are exactly what proves that knowledge and education pay off, that it is the only way for society to progress," said Komnenović, addressing the best students of Tivat.
He pointed out that this generation of high school graduates from the "Mladost" Secondary Mixed School is one of the most successful in the school's history, and that they achieved more A's on the graduation exam than all previous generations.
"Tivat students were once considered the most successful in the region and I am glad that we are returning to those paths," emphasized Komnenović, noting that the Municipality will continue to invest in education.
Nikola Korsić, a student of the generation of SMŠ "Mladost" and winner of the "Luča" award, addressed those present and wished that the future would "bring everyone much success, but also the wisdom to remain good people."
"New paths and new challenges lie ahead of us. Let us take with us the knowledge we have acquired, but also the friendships, experiences and values we have built during our education. Let curiosity, perseverance and mutual respect guide us through life. I hope that one day we will return the acquired knowledge to the community and contribute to its progress with our work," said Korsić.
Jovana Zarubica, a student of the generation at the "Drago Milović" Elementary School, addressed the audience on behalf of the awarded elementary school students:
"Today we celebrate a generation that grew together, matured, and created memories that will last a lifetime. I'm sure that in a few years some lessons and formulas will be forgotten, but what won't be are the friendships, excursions, shared moments, and people who marked our school days."
She dedicated her award to all the girls around the world who don't have the opportunity to experience the beauty of education.
