KCCG: One of our priorities is the education of all healthcare workers and associates

One of the priorities of the Clinical Center of Montenegro (KCCG) is the education of all healthcare workers and healthcare associates, KCCG announced today.

"A large number of planned educations are being conducted abroad through the Center for Science of the Clinical Center of Montenegro (KCCG). During 2026, based on the approved Professional and Scientific Training Plan, a significant number of short-term educations, professional trainings and study stays of employees in renowned healthcare institutions in the region and Europe were implemented," the statement states.

The KCCG added that "special attention is not focused exclusively on medical staff, but also on the professional development of nurses and technicians, health associates, professional medical radiologists, medical physicists, physiotherapists, laboratory experts, biochemists, psychologists and other professionals involved in the process of providing healthcare."

"This multidisciplinary approach reflects a modern vision of the healthcare system, in which the quality of healthcare services depends on the expertise and coordinated work of the entire team. Their implementation was contributed to by the coordinated work of the KCCG Science Center in cooperation with the organizational units of the institution, through the recognition of priority needs of the work process and the development of cooperation with healthcare institutions abroad," the statement reads.

The KCCG said that "as part of the implemented professional development programs, employees (health technicians and associates) of the KCCG acquired new theoretical knowledge and practical skills in various fields of medicine and healthcare."

"The training included modern diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the field of gastroenterology and digestive surgery, including endoscopic procedures, interventional urology, cervical cytology and breast diagnostics. A significant segment related to the improvement of competencies in the field of intensive medicine and health care, through training in neonatology and pediatric intensive care, as well as intensive monitoring in thoracic surgery," the KCCG statement said.

The health institution said that the professional development programs also included the areas of functional diagnostics of lung diseases, radiological diagnostics, toxicological analytics, rehabilitation after surgical treatment, and prevention and control of hospital infections.

"Special focus has also been placed on modern approaches in the field of mental health and substitution therapy, with the aim of improving the quality and comprehensiveness of healthcare. So far, more than twenty health technicians and health associates have successfully completed short-term training, with more than two-thirds of the program being implemented in European Union countries, primarily in Croatia and Slovenia, while professional training has also been organized in Norway, as well as in Serbia. The training was implemented through professional visits (professional training) and study stays in leading health centers and university institutions, enabling employees to become directly acquainted with European work standards, modern diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, organizational models and principles of healthcare quality management," said the KCCG.

They announced that new training dates have already been defined for the second half of the year, which will include additional professional training for health technicians and health associates both in the European Union and in other European countries.

"At the same time, a significant segment of development is the intensification of inter-institutional cooperation with renowned healthcare institutions abroad, on the establishment and improvement of which the KCCG Science Center has been actively working in recent months. Such partnerships create the basis for sustainable exchange of knowledge, development of professional competencies and long-term professional mobility of employees. The acquired knowledge and experience will not remain limited only to the participants of the training. One of the key goals of professional development is the transfer of knowledge within the parent organizational units through internal employee education, improvement of work procedures, standardization of processes and implementation of modern diagnostic and therapeutic approaches in everyday clinical practice," said the KCCG.

According to the health institution, "professional training is approved and implemented in accordance with the annual Professional and Scientific Training Plan, which is adopted based on the development needs of the institution, the professional development program for personnel in the field of health, and with the prior consent of the Ministry of Health of Montenegro."

"The role of coordinator of this process is played by the KCCG Science Center, which, in cooperation with the heads of organizational units, prepares plans for professional and scientific training of employees and monitors their implementation, taking into account the priorities of the work process and available financial resources. KCCG will continue to develop a model of continuous education of employees in the coming period, recognizing investment in knowledge as one of the key prerequisites for improving the quality of healthcare and building a modern, sustainable and patient-oriented healthcare system," the KCCG said.
